Domaine François Cotat Sancerre Chavignol Rosé
From one of the Loire Valley’s most highly regarded producers, François Cotat, this Sancerre Rosé is extremely hard-to-find. Made in limited quantities from a half-hectare dedicated to Pinot Noir, near the village of Chavignol in France’s central Centre-Val de Loire region. Rich clay-limestone soil gives this rose a simultaneously elegant and dynamic character. Notes of spicy red fruit, white pepper, blood orange and flint dominate a very refreshing palate and make it one of the most exceptional rosés in the world.
Matthiasson Rosé
Considered by many to be one of California’s great wine-makers and highly renowned for his white wines, Steve Matthiasson began experimenting with rosé using an assemblage of Syrah, Grenache, Mouvèdre, and Counoise. The grapes that go into the blend are specifically cultivated for rosé – they grow the vines to maintain the fruit’s juiciness, and harvest early to capture vibrancy and brightness. The vineyards are farmed organically and grapes are pressed whole-cluster. The result is a complex and enchantingly versatile wine which pairs effortlessly with almost any dish and makes the perfect drink year round.
Domaine Sylvain Pataille Marsannay Rosé Fleur de Pinot
“Fleur de Pinot” is a remarkable rosé that resembles a great white wine, providing wonderful balance, body, and age-ability. In 2002, Sylvain Pataille, one of Burgundy’s great renegade winemakers, decided to begin making a rosé from a selection of old vine Pinot Noir. Using biodynamic methods and indigenous yeast, Pataille bestows great care and respect to the making of this rosé. The result is a beautiful structure, sweet floral nuances, and superb minerality.
Domaine Tempier, Bandol Rose
One of Provence’s great benchmark wines, Domaine Tempier’s Bandol stands up to its reputation for being one of the most sought after rose’s in the world. Farmed organically and biodynamically, the blend of Mourvedre, Grenache and Cinsault offers a perfect blend of vibrancy, flavor, finesse, and striking minerality.
