When I opened the menu of La Régalde ( 49 av. Jean Moulin, 75014, tel. 01 45 45 68 58 ), I became “greedy” instantly. I wanted to try everything there! Yes, I was very hungry, but also the dishes listed looked so good that only reading their names, I had a promise of a gastronomic paradise.
Despite its remoteness, I’ve been in avenue Jean Moulin plenty of times. Pin-Up, the biggest fashion studio in Paris is located there. But who could have thought that just a few blocks away from the place were the “beauty” is created, there is the perfect example of gastronomic Bistrot.
And the perfection starts from the very first second you enter there- a smell of cornichons and pork terrine meets you. You see, the people from La Régalade are very generous also -each table gets an “amuse-bouche” of wonderful rustic terrine and a pot of tiny cornichons.
And then hesitations came… For the entrée i hesitated between ” Roayle de foie gras du Gers, bouillon crémeux d’asperges et parmesan”, “Légère brandade de morue au pesto de basilic et éclats d’olives noires” and “Langoustines bretonnes cuites à la nage ,mayonnaise relevée au piment” . I chose
“Fraicheur de crabe et avocats en gelée “. The best crab with avocado I have ever eaten. It was surrounded by a kind of lobster bisque that made the tastes explode. Absolutely loved it.
For the main course my lunch friend took “St Pierre de Bratagne rôti aux girolles”
While I went for “Poitrine de cochon fermier caramélisée, fine purée de pommes de terre à la moutarde à l’ancienne”. The caramelized pork was very fat but very good. (I am one of those lucky ones who doesn’t put on any weight. If I did have this problem, I am not sure if this blog existed as for my job, one has to be very skinny :))
I noticed from the menu that although the seafood is not absent and is executed perfectly, meat dishes are a speciality in La Régalade. Normally for lunch, there is a menu of 32 euros, but if you wish, you can order dishes from “coups de coeur” with some extra charge. For example, for the crab entrée, there is 3 extra euros charge. I also found particularly interesting such dishes as “Foie gras de canard rôti pour 2 persoonnes” (+14 € ) and “Côte de boeuf exceptionnelle rôtie pour deux personnes servie uniquement saignante” (+30€).
Even though I was more than full, I couldn’t not to order the “Soufflé chaud au grand Marnier” and I must tell you that it was as good as in any 3 Michelin stars restaurant!
From now on La Régalade is officially my favourite Bistrot in Paris. By the way, some of the nicest people working there.
